About the Attorney

For over 30 years, E. Lindsay Blanks has represented clients throughout South Carolina in workers’ compensation and personal injury litigation. As a lifelong resident of Charleston, Mr. Blanks has devoted his career to aiding residents of the state in pursuing justice. After receiving a BS in political science from the College of Charleston, he went on to earn his law degree at the University of South Carolina Law School in 1987. While at the University of South Carolina, Mr. Blanks assisted with editing and writing of the seminal work “South Carolina Law of Torts” with Professor Robert Felix.

Before opening his practice to focus on assisting workers and injury victims, he served as a North Charleston City Prosecutor, prosecuting DUI cases. Mr. Blanks has also worked on the other side of the criminal justice system as a Public Defender in Aiken County. Mr. Blanks has been so dedicated to his community that the City of North Charleston honored him by declaring a “Lindsay Blanks Day” on December 13, 1994.

Among his successes in private practice, Mr. Blanks secured a $1.25 million jury verdict in Clayton v. Lands Inn. He subsequently argued and won an appeal before the South Carolina Court of Appeals in that case, which changed the law to make it more favorable for employees. As an associate attorney at Ackerman, Woodard, and Butler from 1987 to 1989, Mr. Blanks has prevailed in numerous jury and nonjury civil trials in Common Pleas Courts statewide. He has also successfully litigated many personal injury cases in Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley Counties. Mr. Blanks is admitted in all South Carolina Courts as well as the Federal District Court for South Carolina.

Mr. Blanks has been an invited speaker at various seminars sponsored by the South Carolina Bar. He has also been a featured speaker regarding legal issues at numerous churches throughout the state including Wando Woods Baptist Church.  As an author, he has been published in the South Carolina Legal History collection regarding South Carolina’s Executive Power as well as writing course material for the National Business Institute.

Mr. Blanks’ well-rounded history and vast experience gives him unique insight into each of his client’s cases. Hard work and openness are the focus of his practice, and he is committed to making sure his clients feel heard and comfortable with their representation. He is dedicated to serving residents throughout his home state of South Carolina, which includes those in Charleston, North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Ladson, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Mt. Pleasant, and Kingstree.

When not actively advocating on behalf of his clients, Mr. Blanks enjoys spending time with his wife, Claudette, and son, Bryant at their home in Hanahan. He is also an avid chess player – securing the title of South Carolina Chess Champion in 1992 and 1994.
